In this one time class, students will learn how to use and write using figurative language.

Figurative language is fun! We will first discuss its definition and the type of genre that contains it. We will then explore: the simile, the metaphor, personification, hyperbole, alliteration, onomatopoeia, symbolism, and idioms. After each term is explained in detail, the learner will write a sentence or two using that element, and these will be shared with the class. I teach in a relaxed manner.
