Class Experience

Intermediate Level
Your essay is only as good as your thesis statement. In this class, we discuss what information the thesis statement has to contain. We also explore why a well thought out thesis is so important to your writing. More importantly, we learn how to achieve this. We then look at various thesis statements that do not meet the standard and show how to improve them by going through a step by step process. The learner will also have practice in creating an appropriate thesis statement which will be shared with the class. I teach in a relaxed manner and encourage student interaction. Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over one another, we raise our hand if we have a question or a comment, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and per Outschool's rules, the camera must be turned on at the beginning of class so that I may verify the learner.
