As a career coach, I help people create their best lives and as a distinguished toastmaster, I am trained in communication. I know that if a person is unable to communicate properly, the likelihood of them being able to create their best life is slim. I am also cognizant of the fact that many of our youth are unable to communicate in face to face settings. It is the number one complaint from employers today. Our kids have enough challenges to overcome that are difficult to address. Being able to communicate properly is a challenge that can be readily addressed.
No actual homework will be provided; however, extension activities will be provided weekly.
Examples of Extension Activities:
1- Learners will create a short story
2- Learners will use the media to identify various types of communication
Learners will need access to a microphone (built-in computer mic is fine) and a camera to allow for interaction and practicing during class. There will be weekly practice opportunities for the teen to use at home – a natural extension of what was learned in class that day.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Feedback will be provided regularly and as needed
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This course may be canceled if it does not have a minimum of two learners enrolled for the first class. f insufficient enrollment, parents will be given the option to transfer the learner to another section or receive a refund. Note: Receive a $10 refund on the overall price of this course for any classes that start between June 15, 2020 and Sep 15, 2020. Refunds will be given after your learner completes the second week.
