Students can learn to cook, but can students learn to cook healthy meals on a budget. This class is geared toward teaching students that eating cheaply doesn't have to mean eating poorly.

Class Experience

Students will learn to cook affordable, healthy meals. 
Being raised by a savvy and thrifty military wife, I learned under the guidance of my mother the importance of delivering quality foods with a budget-friendly approach.  My family's running joke is that my mother could feed an entire airplane with a turkey carcass. Her love of food has inspired me to pursue food as both a passion and a business.  I currently bake for Farmer's Markets and create celebration cakes for special events.  I also teach other food-related classes on Outschool. 
At times, students may take longer than the allotted time to make their dishes. They may need an extra few minutes and I don't recommend scheduling classes immediately following this class. Also, students will need to come to class with their ingredients and cooking utensil ready to go.  This will require some time outside of class. 
Materials needed to complete this class will vary from week to week. I will post recipes on Friday evenings and we will hold class on Mondays.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
With cooking, there is always some level of danger as we will use knives, stoves, and ovens.  I recommend that parents be nearby in case of an emergency. 
I will provide recipes on Fridays before class.
