Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class, students will learn how to make a new meal each week. See below for what we are making each week this month. These meals are perfect for lunch or dinner. If you student has any allergies or diets, please let me know and we can tweak the recipes below to make it fit your lifestyle. Also, if you have a specific recipe you would like to try, please let me know. During class, I will provide a step-by-step process from beginning to end. We will learn how to measure ingredients and what order to mix them together. This provides both science and math skills that are important not only in daily life but also in the kitchen. We will practice using an oven and other kitchen utensils to become an all around cook! Some recipes take longer to cook than the hour set for class. We will simply get it in the oven and I will let students know any further instructions needed. If the student is more advanced and would like to cook on their own without me, please let me know and I can simply send the instructions for them to cook during the class while I just oversee. Each months recipes will be added by the first week of the month before. Ex: February will be added no later than week 1 of January. Weekly recipes: Week of Oct 7th - General Tso's Chicken Week of Oct 14th - Shepherds Pie Week of Oct 21st - Chicken and dumpling soup Week of Oct 28th - Beef and cheese nancotti Week of Nov 4th - Cheeseburger casserole Week of Nov 11th - Chili Week of Nov 18th - Creamy Garlic pork chops Week of Nov 25th - Friday class will make a Thanksgiving leftover recipe Week of Dec 2nd - Swedish meatballs Week of Dec 9th - Creamy White lasagna soup Week of Dec 16th - Broccoli and chicken wreath Week of Dec 23rd - Teriyaki chicken Throughout the class, I will instill safety tips and what to do and not to do in the kitchen that can help prevent accidents. I love cooking and baking! I have been doing both for over 15 years. I started out helping my mom and dad make meals. My sister and I used to have cooking shows and pretended to have our own restaurant. Currently, I am a mom of 2 boys and am always making something in the kitchen. Like all kids, they go through picky stages and I have to get creative. I love experimenting with new recipes and baked goods.
