Learning English as a second language is full of vocabulary and grammar rules. Yet, one of the most incredible experiences of learning a language is communicating well with a native speaker. This ongoing conversation based class will focus on building communication skills through speaking with one another. The more that students hear and speak in English, the quicker they will grow in their abilities. Each week, we will talk about age appropriate topics that interest this age group. Students may bring topics or ideas to class; otherwise, conversation starters will be presented. Topics may be on types of music, movies, shows, fashion, travel, sports, food or anything else! Students will be encouraged to use simple and complex sentences, and will learn to flow with the conversation to connect with one another. When students don’t know a word, they will be encouraged to use the vocabulary they do know to bring across their meaning.
