English Chat for ESL (Small Group)

In this class, we will work on conversational English skills. We can talk about anything you would like to discuss: animals, places, favorite toys and TV shows, and anything else that interests you. We always end our classes with Show and Tell, so have something ready to share! 😊

Please let me know what your interests are in our classroom prior to the start of class. This will help me and the other students guide the conversations. 

Class structure:
- Introductions: Students will be asked to share their names, their ages, and where they are from with the teacher and other students in the class.
- Time to talk!
- Show and Tell
- Closing: Each student will receive a sticker chart, and then we will say goodbye to everyone in the class.

⚠️ Please be aware that this is a freetalk-style class, which will be teacher-led and monitored. I do encourage the children to talk to one another, but I also ask a lot of questions to try to engage everyone. I will correct and model as needed, and bring up popular topics of discussion to keep the conversation flowing. I will often post a topic in the classroom prior to class starting. I will also encourage students to speak in full sentences.

⚠️ This is not a beginners or a specific tutoring class. I do ask that participants in this class have some basic English conversational skills so we can carry on a conversation.

If you are seeking a class for a beginner, or for an older or a younger student, or if you are seeking more specific lessons, feel free to schedule one of my 1:1 sessions.

- I try my best to keep classes close to the scheduled time. However, depending on the amount of students enrolled and the pace of the students, classes may run over or under.
⚠️ Classes with only 1 learner: I will contact the parents of the enrolled learner within a few hours of the scheduled class time. If the parent would like to cancel, I will cancel and give a full refund. I will happily do a class with 1 learner, but many parents choose this class because they prefer that their child is speaking with other children.

- If there are no learners in the classroom, I will wait 10 minutes before exiting the classroom. 

- Siblings are welcome to watch the class, but if they are going to participate, they must be enrolled in the class.

- I cannot refund or transfer after the class has been completed. I will do my best to support you if I am contacted before the class is scheduled.
