In this one-time class, students will learn the meanings of conflict resolution and de-escalation. They will learn strategies that will assist in resolving conflicts in common situations using group discussions, lectures, and scenarios.

Class experience

The learning goals for this course are for the students to have a deeper understanding and knowledge of different types of conflict and how to begin to resolve issues as they arise. This includes de-escalation techniques and strategies. Students will end class with a basic tool set that includes problem-solving skills as they relate to conflict management and resolution in different social settings.
As a mental health counselor for ten years, I have taught children, of many ages, and families conflict resolution skills. I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and have spent many years helping youth learn different anger management and conflict resolution skills.
