What's included
8 live meetings
8 in-class hoursClass Experience
In each lesson, students are introduced to new coding concepts in a gentle progression. They first understand sequencing through a series of movement puzzles. Then they learn to recognize repeating patterns and apply loops to make their programs more efficient. Students explore events, actions, and conditional statements and apply these concepts to solve coding challenges. By the end of this course, students can solve puzzles with code, write algorithms using loops and conditionals, and debug simple programs. Topics in this course include: • Flexible sequences • Loops • Debugging • Events • Conditional statements • Algorithms Our Schedule: • Day 1 : Learn about sequencing. • Day 2 : Create their own animated sequence. • Day 3 : Explore different ways to solve a problem. • Day 4 : Identify a repeating pattern in their code and use loops to repeat these patterns and shorten their program. • Day 5 : Introduce students to debugging. • Day 6 : Learn about 4 event code blocks: touch, collision, tilt, and messaging. • Day 7 : Use "if" and "if-else" statements to create programs that react to changing or uncertain conditions. • Day 8 : Students combine all the skills they've learned to create algorithms that use conditional logic, loops, and sequencing for their final project. ** For a list of all the classes that we offer, please access this shortened url: shorturl.at/fkoDH
