In this coding & technology class students learn blockly coding to start them on the path to understanding how "grown-ups code". We will be using code.org for our coding challenges and they will participate in FUN typing challenges learning correct keyboard skills. This is the best way to practice where the letters are on the keyboard and prepare your child for a lifetime of typing. While learning, students will interact with fun characters they know and love, like Minecraft or typing with monkeys and so much more! Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Wilmington College
Hello! I am Ms. P. and I have been teaching students computer science skills and academics for over twenty years. I am so grateful to my families who sign up for my classes. I know the importance of the role of technology in everyday learning and once the students take my classes, my parents see how useful these classes are.
I teach typing, coding, math, science, engineering and computer arts with fun themes that the students engage with like Minecraft, Unicorns and more. I also teach the Google programs so your child becomes familiar with how to type a book report or create a slideshow for school projects. Computer artists work for Google, Microsoft and Apple. Coders work for Minecraft and create video games and animation for movies. Computer programmers even make our appliances work these days. When your child learns computer science skills early in life it helps them to succeed in the digital world and sets them up for their future school years ahead and eventually a career. My passion and energy during my lessons, I hope, will create great memories for your child for years to come.
