Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Students will have the opportunity to discuss comic book characters and popular culture while learning about the influences of William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and other authors and playwrights that are praised in the literary canon. Most comic book characters and storylines can be traced back to either epic or tragic heroes of the past.
Students will use the information learned and discussed in class to make connections that will benefit them in their personal, scholarly, and professional lives.
Students will be given 20 minute writing exercises each class to explore the process of creative writing, and implementing strategies from the renaissance era of literature.
Finally, students will work with their peers and instructor to craft a group creative writing assignment that will link all of their writing

Each will have a similar flow to the meetings and the only thing really changing will be the characters and literature we analyze.
