In this 6 week course, students will learn how to create and develop characters and story telling techniques in order to make their very own comic book. Any age group welcome.
Class experience
Week 1: Characters Design: Students will create a short picture plot along with a few characters. This will cover how to make characters and develop a fun story of their choice. Week 2: Story Telling: Class will cover how to set up camera angles to best compose a story for readability and impact. Here we will stage our characters using small sketches in place of our panels. Students will learn to use their imagination to tell exciting and engaging stories and will learn the techniques used behind their favorite comics or tv shows. They will be able to take these skills with them in school and outside of class to become effective at communicating ideas.
Homework Offered
Students should work on their project outside of class. This will help in meeting the timeline that follows each week's new session and stage. Their comic can be as simple or intricate as the student wants.Assessments Offered
