Christmas Themed Math Escape Room: The Case of the Runaway Reindeer Ages 6 - 8
In this one time class, students will search Christmas Town to find Santa's reindeer, then work together to solve 1st and 2nd grade word problems to complete the riddle and gather the reindeer up in time for Santa to fly on his rounds.

This one time Christmas themed class will challenge students to solve a variety of math problems, using an escape room format. Students will work together to find the reindeer hidden around Christmas Town in order to solve the math questions and decode the magic word. They must find all of the reindeer and decode the word in 30 minutes. Math problems are at first and second grade level and involve a variety of concepts, including addition, subtraction, data, time, and money. Students will be encouraged to interact with peers to solve the problems; teacher will ask guiding questions and offer possible strategies if the group is stuck.
