Welcome to "Chat, Laugh, and Learn!" Learners can join in any week and jump right in! In this ongoing class, learners will have the chance to interact with peers through fun, guided conversation. Each week will be different with new/different conversation prompts, silly stories, mysteries, and more! Some weeks will have extra time dedicated to show and tell, if we have a "mystery show and tell" day. The majority of each class will be spent engaging in the social aspect, silly conversation prompts, and laughter! However, each class will also include a few minutes dedicated to practicing a math skill, such as multiplication tricks, addition and subtraction tips, attributes of shapes, and more. Some weeks, there will be an activity posted in the classroom for additional practice with what we learned in class. I LOVE teaching academics, but I've seen a need for more social time with several students in my classes (we just have too much fun!). I decided to create this class as the best of both worlds. Come chat, laugh, and learn with me! ***I also offer this same class with a focus on tricky spelling patterns for reading and writing (instead of math practice). You can join both classes and make this a 2x/week class! Some math skills that may be included in this class are: -touch points -addition and subtraction practice -multiplication tricks and practice -attributes of shapes -fractions -place value -area and perimeter -word problems Math Topics By Date Fall 2025: Week of August 18th: touch points and addition Week of August 25th: touch points and addition Week of September 1st: touch points and subtraction Week of September 8th: touch points and subtraction Week of September 15th: addition and subtraction Week of September 22nd: understanding multiplication & multiplication tricks: 0 and 1 Week of September 29th: multiplication tricks: 2 and 4 Week of October 6th: multiplication tricks: 2, 4, and 8 Week of October 13th: multiplication tricks: 2, 4, and 8 Week of October 20th: multiplication tricks: 5 Week of October 27th: multiplication tricks: 10 Week of November 3rd: multiplication tricks: 3 Week of November 10th: multiplication tricks: 9 Week of November 17th: attributes of 2D and 3D shapes Week of November 24th: NO CLASS-Happy Thanksgiving! :) Week of December 1st: understanding fractions Week of December 8th: understanding fractions Week of December 15th: adding fractions Week of December 22nd: NO CLASS-Holiday Break!
