Hello future friends! I really enjoy Canva and use it frequently for two youtube channels and business designs. It is a very simple program to understand and use for many different projects. You can use it for social media cover pictures, cards, flyers, school projects and so much more! In this class, we will design a youtube thumbnail using many of the common features below. - Background removal - Adding pictures - Adding text - Adding elements - Changing colors - Transparency I will be sharing my screen the entire class so that I can show each step as we talk about it. I will engage the students by letting them help me choose which pictures, colors and text we will use. They will also help me pick what our "topic" for the thumbnail will be. I strongly encourage you to sign your child up for the free Canva program prior to class if they want to use another computer or a split screen to follow along with their own design. This isn't a must though. If you have a CANVA PRO version, this will allow for a few more features. They can follow along with my screen if not. After class, I will post a step by step guide for how we made our thumbnail design. **************************************************** If you don't see a class time that fits your needs, please feel free to request a better time. *************************************************************************************************************************** Siblings: We have tons of fun in our class and everyone can join, but please be aware of the policy information. Outschool's learner policy states that all learners must be enrolled in the class. Please make sure to enroll each learner separately via the portal. They are more than welcome to sit in on the same devise as long as I can see them both so we can interact with each other. :)

A Free Canva account is recommended for class. A PRO plan is better so that they can use all functions. If they don't have one, they can follow along but it is strongly encouraged to at least get the free version.

Hello my future friends! I am so excited to start this journey with your learner! I am fully focused on fun and energetic classes that will open your child’s mind to new and exciting adventures! I strongly believe that everyone, not just children, learn the best when they are having fun and staying involved.
I have a wide variety of education that I will explain in just a moment, but let me start here. I have an amazing 5 year old little girl that has helped me grow as a person and a teacher. She has taught me patience along with the ability to think outside the box in reference to teaching new experiences.
I graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology & Investigations. In addition to this major, I also received my minor in Communication Studies.
After college, I decided that I wanted to do more with my education so I applied to a 2 year radiography program at an accredited hospital. After completion of this program, I passed my boards and am now a Registered Radiology Technologist- RT(R).
While in radiology school, I began to work from home as an online ESL teacher. If your not familiar with this type of teacher, it’s someone who teaches English as a second language. I acquired my online teaching certificate (TESOL) for this.
My main focus began with the younger groups but as the years went on, I realized I loved teaching all age groups for so many great reasons. From princess crowns to cultural quizzes, we always had fun!
The main thing I learned while teaching was that every child learns differently. While crafts may work for one, games may work for another. This is why I focus my classes around many different teaching techniques. We will use brain busters, coloring, experiments, reading and even prizes!
Something fun and unique about me is that I own a photo booth business! It’s not the typical business, but it sure is fun! I love being part of everyone’s special day from birthday parties to weddings.
Once I figure out how to incorporate this into a class, I definitely will. Make sure to follow my classes to catch new and exciting ones coming soon!
