Hi Friends! In this interactive story time class we will be reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. This book is a classic and loved by many children, not only will we read the story but we will act out the story using a fun and interactive felt board to display the different shapes, colors, and animals presented throughout the story! After we have read the story learners will be able to interact and play games with one another to help then enrich their understanding of the story, notice patterns within the text, engage in their environment, and most importantly have fun! I can't wait to learn and explore with you all! Ms. Emily

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi Friends!
I am Miss. Emily and I teach English and Reading Comprehension, for Pre-School- 3rd Grade, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL). I also teach History for ESL in upper elementary and middle school.
I have a Bachelors Degree from Concordia University Irvine in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in English Literature and a minor in Child Development. I also have a passion for History and spend a lot of my free time learning as much as I can. I have worked with and taught young children for the past five years and spent a majority of that time in Pre-K and Kindergarten. I also have experience working with middle school and high school students teaching and tutoring in English Literature and History.
I love watching the wonder and curiosity grow within young minds and helping to facilitate that is one of my passions in life. I grew up in a family of teachers and have soaked up all the advice and wisdom they have given me and I hope to bring it into my own classroom. I strive to make my classroom a safe place to feel heard and to grow in community as we learn about the world together.
My husband and I just adopted a new baby kitten named Lily and she loves to hangout in my classroom. So, I have a feeling she will be joining us sometimes during our lessons as she loves books and history just like the rest of us!
