#Creative
I have been to Austria and taken the Sound of Music bus tour. I have stayed in the house where the filming occurred and took a personal tour of the home where I learned a lot about what happened during the filming. I will share those stories with the students. I have taken the train to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, and walked through to town to the camp where I learned first hand from a Harvard educated tour guide about what happened there.
I have watched this movie hundreds of times with my own public school students, and I have led the important conversations that happen when we choose to look deeper into a movie like this one which can teach so many lessons.

This is a fun show with a happy ending, but students will be digging into the deeper meaning and historical context of this show. Over the years, when I've taught this unit in my public school classroom, some students had seen the show many times, but never understood the last 1/3 of the movie when the family leaves their home. We will be discussing the reasons as a class. There are moral lessons and historical lessons that students will walk away with in this class.

Students will need access to Kahoot which is easily and readily available at no cost.
