This is Breathing Life Into the Script for younger artists! In this two-fold class taught by television and film’s Virginia Vogt, actors will learn methods aimed at breathing life into the script. The words on the page of a script come alive the moment an actor speaks them. Students will improve their understanding of character development, even when approaching a small script or part. Students will develop an awareness of their emotional availability and how it relates to a script.
I am an award-winning professional actor, having worked in film and television for 8 years, and theatre for 20 years. I hold a diploma from the Vancouver Film School for Acting for Film and Television, and I have trained for many years with award-winning actors, directors, and casting directors.
A journal (preferred) or paper Pen or pencil (If student prefers to write on a computer or other device, that is acceptable as well)
We will be talking about emotions of all kinds, including anger and sadness. While I do not use emotional recall (going back into the actor's memory to a time they felt a specific emotion), sometimes talking about certain emotions as they relate to a story or script, can be difficult for students. Please know that no student will be pushed to explain or express anything that makes them uncomfortable.
