The science of birds, starring the fluffiest professors. Welcome to Borbology 101, where science takes flight—and class is co-taught by real parrots! In this weekly club, curious learners will dive into the wild and wonderful world of birds with the help of some very special guests: my pet cockatoos and cockatiels! Each session features a fascinating bird fact, a short interactive lesson, and a cameo (or a few!) from the "borbs" themselves. From how birds fly, to why parrots talk, to what makes a beak so strong—this club is perfect for animal lovers, future ornithologists, or anyone who’s ever wondered what goes on inside a bird’s brain. We’ll flap through bird biology, behavior, habitats, and more, one feathered fact at a time. 🪶 What to expect each week: A new bird-related science topic (think migration, mimicry, beak shapes, and beyond!) Real-time appearances from cockatoos and cockatiels—sometimes chaotic, always adorable Visuals, videos, and live demos when possible A light-hearted, interactive vibe that makes science fun and memorable 🦜Club Schedule: Week of April 13th: What Makes a Bird a Bird? Week of April 20th: Inside a Feather: Structure & Function Week of April 27th: How Do Birds See the World? Week of May 4th: Why Do Parrots Talk Week of May 11th: From Dinosaurs to Birbs: A Brief Bird Evolution Week of May 18th: Bird Brains: Are Birds Smart? Week of May 25th: Parrots as Pets
Learning Goals
Develop scientific curiosity by asking questions, making observations, and connecting facts about birds to broader science topics (like evolution, ecology, and anatomy).
Build empathy and respect for animals through exposure to live pet parrots and learning about bird care and conservation.
