This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Week Beginning 3/2/25 – Rosa Parks Week Beginning 10/2/25 – Snakes Week Beginning 17/2/25 – Bats Week Beginning 24/2/25 – Thomas Edison Week Beginning 3/3/25 – George Washington Week Beginning 10/3/25 – Mummies Week Beginning 17/3/25 – Pandas Week Beginning 24/3/25 – Lizards Week Beginning 31/3/25 – Monkeys Week Beginning 7/4/25 – Wolves Week Beginning 14/4/25 – Bees Week Beginning 21/4/25 – Cheetahs Week Beginning 28/4/25 – Planets Week Beginning 5/5/25 – Deadly Predators Week Beginning 12/5/25 – Ugly Animals Week Beginning 19/5/25 – Weird Sea Creatures Week Beginning 26/5/25 – Barack Obama Week Beginning 2/6/25 – Abraham Lincoln Week Beginning 9/6/25 – Sharks Week Beginning 16/6/25 – Dolphins Week Beginning 23/6/25 – Rocks and Minerals Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
Supply List
The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text. Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Learners are encouraged to have their own copy of each book for this course. Some can be found as eBooks on https://www.getepic.com/ You need to register for your own free account.
