Somewhere nestled in between Lapland and Bloxy Acres lies a snowy village called Silverhill. The residents of Silverhill are feeling sad, as they have heard that Santa has gone missing, and they need your help to find him! The children of Silverhill are depending on you! I can't wait to welcome you to my purpose-built, self designed Bloxburg Christmas village, where you will team up with the others in the class, follow the clues, help find what happened to Santa and ensure that everyone in Silverhill gets their Christmas gifts! This class will be held within the Roblox game Bloxburg. Our Roblox avatars will be walking around the Christmas village that I have built, to discover the clues as a team. If we are successful our avatars will be able to dine and dance at the in-game party! Once the mystery has been solved, there will be some time to further explore the village freely - but during class we will stay together and follow the instructions.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
The challenge will be conducted inside a Roblox game. It will be necessary to be an in-game friend with me for the duration of the class. All gamer-tags will be visible to me and the other participants during class. The server is private, meaning only those enrolled and present in the class can access the session.
Supply List
This class will be held within the Roblox game Bloxburg. You will need to have purchased the game beforehand (25 Robux (around 1 dollar). It's useful and preferable (but not essential) to have zoom and Roblox on separate devices.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

Associate's Degree in Education from University of Wales Institute, Cardiff
Hi, I'm Astrid and I am a mum of two, and a teacher based in the United Kingdom. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics, and I have a Postgraduate degree in teaching Design and Technology. I have worked in schools for over 14 years, and am excited to bring my skills to an online platform.
I love to cook (unless it's dinner - e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y!!), to craft, and my guilty pleasure is gaming! I play Brawl Stars every single day, and I love Roblox (especially Bloxburg!) and Among Us! I am a HUGE Pokémon nerd and love to play Pokémon Go. Expect to see my classes based around these things, because when you love something, it's easy to enthuse others!
I love working with young people and sharing my love of craft & design, textiles, food and gaming, in a fun, engaging and inclusive way. Through seeing the difficulties of my own neurodivergent children in mainstream education, I know first hand of the importance of inclusivity, and strive to make my own lessons both enjoyable and accessible to any learner who wishes to enrol. I like to lead by example, and "make and do" along with the learners, so I am able to cater for a variety of learning styles.
Most of my classes are ongoing, weekly sessions, but these can be also used as one-time classes.
In the aftermath of these difficult times of social distancing, my gaming classes provide a great way for young people to safely connect with their peers and have fun!
I can't wait to welcome you to my classroom!
My class policies:
Subscription (ongoing) classes are billed weekly on a Sunday and can be cancelled on the learner page at any time in advance. Please feel free to attend my ongoing classes just once, by stopping the subscription after class.
Refunds cannot be offered for missed classes, but I offer a flexible transfer policy. Transfer requests must be made 24 hours in advance, and to a different time slot of the same class. Thank you for supporting these policies, that help me maintain smaller class sizes.
