The cognitive benefits of learning another language are undeniable. Research shows that learning another language can be extremely beneficial for young learners. Children exposed to a second language have improved memory, enhanced concentration, and better listening skills. They are also better equipped to multitask and problem solve. This is one reason I am so passionate about teaching Spanish to young learners. Christmas Fun in Spanish! is a one-time class that includes learning common Christmas words and phrases in Spanish through an interactive presentation, repetition, visual props, and conversation as well as a song and fun game! Additionally, students will learn how to ask and answer questions using complete sentences. I strive to accommodate all learners through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities as well as adequate repetition. This is a conversational class with an emphasis on student talk time. Students will be encouraged, but not required, to speak about 50% of the time in order to practice pronunciation and promote retention. If your child wishes not to speak in class, please let me know beforehand so that I can make those accommodations. This is a beginner level course for students with little or no experience speaking Spanish, and I aim to facilitate a comfortable learning environment. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
