Beginner Level
Willkommen!

In this absolute beginner German class, learn to say hello, good bye, describe yourself and your family, and numbers, as well as verbs in the present tense.

Students will practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in German. We will also discuss German culture, such as the culture around formal and informal pronouns.

Quizzes and exam will be done in class. For the vocabulary quizzes, students should have paper and pencil to write, while the exam will be done on Google Forms. Each student will get a packet of worksheets to help them prior to the first day of class. They are encouraged to print this out to take notes on.

This class will be slow paced to ensure that everyone feels confident with the language. There will be lots of repetition. Students are invited to speak, though I will not randomly call on students who do not like to be called on randomly.

I have been studying German for about 10 years both formally and informally. I studied at the high intermediate level in university. I have travelled to Germany and held many conversations with native speakers. I do have an American accent when I speak German. I teach German to homeschoolers live in person at my studio.
