Sit, No Bad Dog!
Does your dog not listen to your student? Having a dog who listens to everyone in your family can make your life easier and more fun. When a dog is well trained they become loyal and amazing companions! I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. I love working with and teaching kids how to train and create a special bond with their dog.

Recently, I was featured in Parents Magazine, March 2022 edition, as an Online Educator/Dog Trainer for children. In the article I help parents recognize different ways to incorporate their children in the daily pet care and training aspect of owning a dog.

In this 4 week course there will be no live meetings so your student can take their time and have a week to complete each assignment. Each week I will provide step by step videos of me completing each new skill and new trick/game with my own dogs. Once the student has mastered the skill and trick/game they will record themselves performing them with their dog and upload it to the Outschool classroom to gain feedback from myself and the other students in the class. My goal is to create a safe and positive environment with students providing support and encouragement to their classmates.

Students will learn how to teach their dog the following basic obedience skills:
Sit
Down
Come
Leave It

Students will learn how to teach their dog the following basic tricks/games:
Shake
Touch
Roll Over
Jump Over
Go Find It!
Ping Pong Recall
Spin to the Right, Spin to the Left

Week 1: For the first week, I will post an introduction video of myself and my two dogs. This weeks skill is "Sit" and the trick options are "Touch" or "Shake." The students will be required to complete the new skill (Sit), but they will have the option to complete just one of the tricks (Touch or Shake). If the student wants to complete and submit both tricks, they may do so. Students will also learn the best ways to communicate and train their dog. By the end of the week, students will post their performance videos so I can review them and provide feedback. They will also create a post introducing themselves and their dog to me and their classmates on Outschool. I will also respond to any questions and help the student troubleshoot any problems they may have when working with their dog.

Week 2: This week our new skill is "Down" and the trick options are "Roll Over" or "Jump Over." Once again the new skill and one trick is required to complete but completing both tricks is optional. I will post how-to videos of completing each skill and trick with my own dogs. Students will post their new video by the end of the week, and provide positive feedback to at least one classmates video from the previous week.

Week 3: This week we will focus on recall. We will be reinforcing this new skill by completing one or two games with your dog. Your student will learn how to teach your dog to come to them when called. The new skill is "Come" and the new games are "Go find it" and "Ping Pong Recall" (they will need someone to assist them with Ping Pong Recall, it requires two people.) I will post how-to videos of me performing those skills with my dogs. Completing the new skill and one game is required for this weeks homework. (Completing both games is optional.) The students will, by the end of the week, post their new videos of performing each skill with their dog and comment on another classmates video from the previous week.

Week 4: This week we will focus on your dogs impulse control. The new skill is "Leave It" and the new tricks are "Spin to the Right" and "Spin to the Left" Since this is the final week, I would like all three skills to be completed. I will post how-to videos of me performing those skills with my dogs. The students will post a final video of themselves performing all three tricks and saying goodbye to their classmates. They will also comment on another classmates video from the previous week.

**Please note if you don't practice with your dog and complete the homework, then I cannot guarantee successful results with your dog.
**Class will take place in the Outschool classroom where students will receive videos and assignments weekly. Each week I will check in with the student, provide feedback to their submitted videos and assignments. Students can also email me directly with any questions or if they need help troubleshooting a new skill with their dog. I will provide tips and guidance to the students each week.
