We will learn all the skills needed to crochet beginner level projects. This class will require daily practice, but anyone can learn to crochet. Each week 1 or more videos will be posted. Students are encouraged to reach out with pictures or videos if they get stuck and I will respond with pictures or videos to help them get unstuck. Class 1: We will learn about the tools needed to crochet, learn how to hold the yarn and hook properly, learn to create a slip know and learn the chain stitch. Learning to crochet well takes repetition. Students will need to commit to working at least 15 minutes every single day between classes on the skills learned in the previous class. Class 2: We will review skills from class one and learn to single crochet stitch in a foundation row. Remember to practice every day between classes. Class 3: We will review skills from the first 2 classes, learn how to single crochet multiple rows and learn to finish off. Remember to practice every day between classes. Class 4: We will start our class project, a scarf Class 5: We will use all the skills we’ve learned to complete each part of our scarf Class 6: We will learn what to do when we finish a project, how to sew pieces together so they hold up, and put together our project. I encourage them to watch lesson videos as often as needed until they are 100% confident in each skill. I have been an avid crocheter for the last decade, designing and writing my own patterns, teaching and selling my goods. I have been teaching kids ages 5-18 in person crochet classes for the last 7 years with all-time enrollment in the triple digits. This experience has prepared me for all potential problems that we may encounter as well as how to address and overcome them.
