Before starting, I will gauge students knowledge of the language and answer any questions they may have about the language or Deaf Culture. I will teach students about where ASL got it start, using Canva Presentations, then we will move on to learning the alphabet and basic greetings (example: hi, how are you, what’s up, see you later, goodbye; hello my name is ____) Additionally, depending on learner knowledge, I’ll teach school signs, animal signs and country and city signs! Before students leave, their exit ticket will be using one of the aformentioned greetings they learned to address either another student or myself.

South Carolina Teaching Certificate in Social Studies/History
I studied American Sign Language for five years, and still use it today (although not as my profession) and have a vast knowledge and understanding of the language and Deaf Culture and History.
