Description
Class Experience
In this 4 week Diamond Club Learning Pod class we will begin to explore concepts in chemistry by learning about the periodic table of elements and how the elements make up everything! Over this course we will cover: Week 1: The smallest particle of matter: the atom Learners will need 3 different small objects. I will be using pony beads that are different colors. You can use Skittles or M & M candy too! Week 2: How to read the periodic table of elements, color code the periodic table...
Learners will become familiar with atoms and their relationship with he periodic table of elements. The elements on the periodic table make up everything and we will dive into how these elements can combine chemically to make new substances.
I have been a certified teacher for 15 years spending the last 8 years teaching comprehensive science (6th-8th). My experiences include teaching and accommodating learners on all levels. I have obtained a masters in educational studies with an emphasis in reading as well as a gifted endorsement. All teachers in this organization are also certified teachers.
The majority of the work in the course will be completed in class.
