Amazing Powerpoint - How to Do Everything in Powerpoint

Learn how to do anything in PowerPoint!

I bet you didn't know that PowerPoint is a really powerful tool, not only does it make great presentations, you can use it to create pictures, animations from those pictures, fun films, quizzes and even computer games. 

In this flexible learning class we will learn how to do all kinds of exciting things in PowerPoint. Each week there is a learning video explaining how to do each fantastic skill, learners will then practice the skill with activities and projects. Each student will eventually produce a final piece of work to submit to the class board. 

Here is a break down of the things we will learn each week in this class and the expected activity from students. 

Week 1: To start us off we will learn about picture manipulation in PowerPoint. How to use it to change and improve your pictures as well as overlay the pictures to create backgrounds and add people into photos. This week students will have to submit a photo for peer review and assess a classmate's photo in return.

Week 2: This week we will start to add animation to our photos with moving parts and understanding the way PowerPoint stores information. 

Week 3: In the third week we will be learning about making movies in PowerPoint, how to animate the screen and the tricks to make it easier. This week learners will be expected to create and submit their own movie for their class mates to see and feedback on. 

Week 4: In this week we will be looking at movie intro and title effects, we will learn how to create them and add them to projects. This week learners will spend time improving their videos and submitting them for a class gallery 

Week 5: This week we will create a quiz in PowerPoint, how to create it and play it. We will the play each other's quizzes and finally take a quiz of our own on the knowledge we have learnt so far.

Week 6: In our final lesson we will create a simple video game, learners will use the skills they have learnt to create and upload a computer game. Each student will then have the option to play the other games and offer feedback. We will end the class with a fun quiz to test our PowerPoint skills. 

This is a flexible class so does not meet live, each lesson will include learning videos and handouts to support learners.
