Hello, I am a wife of a retired, freight train engineer and I thought it would be fun to simulate what my husband did when called to work. I have 23 years experience learning about trains. I like to keep the classes small so the children can share and ask questions. Most classes are unmuted so we can hear each other talk and share. We will get called to go to work and then have things to remember, before we leave the house for work. We will learn about different types of freight cars on a freight train. What do they hold and what are they called? I will compare the train engine to a car showing differences. Do you drive the train with your feet? Does the train have a steering wheel? We also will look inside where the engineer sits on the freight train and learn about the different levers that are used to make the train move. This is a fun class with some great details put in. I will have some props to share as well. I am a very patient and fun teacher. Each student will have time to share in the class and participate as a group. All aboard....let’s get busy !

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am excited to be teaching various classes on Outschool. My classes will be different each time, depending on what the children have questions on or want to share with each other.
My teaching style is interactive. Don't worry if your student is shy, I will not make them feel uncomfortable. I like hearing children talk and see their excitement during class.
My passion is teaching ESL students. I will have a show and tell class for young learners to get them interested in talking about an item in class. I also offer private one on one lessons . We will learn new descriptive words along the way. I develop classes for each student which can be reading, writing or speaking.
I love teaching and believe every child is unique and will learn in a different way. I have various ways to gain the child's attention and make learning fun. I want them to look forward to class.
I have dealt with shy children, outgoing children, funny children etc. I want them all to flourish in class and feel a part of the online environment. Please, feel free to email me with various questions.
I have a 4 year BA degree. I received my BA degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Small Business Management. California was in need of substitute teachers after I graduated, so I used my degree to pass the CBST test. This test allowed me to substitute teach at any school. I found a love for teaching. I do love business talk still, and have passed my knowledge on to my sons.
My background includes substitute teaching for 10 years in a traditional, brick and mortar school. I primarily taught the lower grades, kindergarten through third grade.
I also ran an in-home daycare for 10 years which at that time I also taught preschool.
Recently, I have taught ESL on-line for 5 years. This is what makes me smile the most. I love seeing the children learn new things and gain confidence with their English skills. I will have a show and tell classes so children can bring their English skills and descriptive words to class. I have done this in the past, and it's very rewarding. One of my favorite moments was seeing three children from different countries interacting and speaking English to each other. I have my TESL certificate with distinction.
A little more about me, I am married and we have three sons and 2 grand-sons. I love nature, reading and gardening.
Thank you!
