Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
This class is designed to cover all important topics in Algebra 2 and to deepen student knowledge and understanding in the subject. I introduce the topic with notes, example questions and involve students a lot to make sure they are following along. Students are guided through the problems and are encouraged to ask questions. Each week is focused on a certain topic from Algebra 2 and students can also bring in their questions from that topic to discuss in the class. I use a digital whiteboard to share worksheets and show steps on the same whiteboard.

I suggest that students are familiar with Algebra 1 content before taking this course. The course schedule is as follows:

Week of 9/25 Chapter 1 Linear Functions
Week of 10/4 Chapter 2 Quadratic Functions (part 1)
Week of 10/11 Chapter 2 Quadratic Functions (part 2)
Week of 10/18 Chapter 3 Quadratic Equations and Complex Numbers (part 1)
Week of 10/25 Chapter 3 Quadratic Equations and Complex Numbers (part 2)
Week of 11/1 Chapter 4 Polynomial Functions (part 1)
Week of 11/8 Chapter 4 Polynomial Functions (part 2)
Week of 11/15 Chapter 5 Rational Exponents & Radical Functions (part 1)
Week of 11/22 Chapter 5 Rational Exponents & Radical Functions (part 2)
Week of 11/29 Chapter 6 Exponential & Logarthmatic Functions (part 1)
Week of 12/6 Chapter 6 Exponential & Logarthmatic Functions (part 2)
(The calendar will be updated for further dates)

I refer to Big Ideas Algebra 2 textbook and also provide weekly skill practice worksheets and notes.
