Experience: I have a BS in Mathematics and a Masters in Education. I have taught Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra( Regular and Honors), Geometry(Regular and Honors) and Pre-Calculus. Algebra2: This is an ongoing Algebra 2 class that will meet twice a week and involves student interacting with the teacher and complete one or two weekly assignments/assessments. Since this is an ongoing class, you are welcome to join at any time and attend for as many weeks as you need. This offering will be good for homeschool students and for students who want to get extra help in specific concepts. There will be an ongoing update of what will be taught each week. I will be updating the outline often so as to keep parents informed of the concepts that will be taught. I will be offering this class on a Monday/Wednesday 11 am or 1pm central time schedule and also on a Tuesday/Thursday 12 pm central time schedule. If there are enough parents who want to create a class during the early evening, I will definitely consider this option. Homeschool Parents: This course will continue the entire school year and will give your child an opportunity to earn credit for the Algebra 2 course. Please note that there will be a place where students will be assessed that you can access to assure your child is successful in the Algebra 2 course. In addition, students will have access to worksheets for homework assignments and answer keys to check their understanding that you can have them put into a binder for proper assessment of the course. Class Structure: I like to teach with the I do, we do, you do method of teaching. Each class I will introduce a topic, work on some examples, have students work examples with me, and then have students work on the examples by themselves to ensure understanding. Hopefully students will have an opportunity to start the assignment during class time and sometimes complete it during the class time. This will give students an opportunity to ask questions as needed. I will post notes and assignments as pdf files on the class page as needed. In addition, I will invite students to join a classroom through ck-12..org This is where I will assign some assignments and assessments. You will be able to access their reports to see their grades at any time. Here is an overview of concepts that will be learned: UNIT 1: Fundamental Concepts of Algebra UNIT 2: Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities UNIT 3:Inverse Functions UNIT 4: Absolute Value Equations and Inequalities UNIT 5: Radical Equations UNIT 6: Polynomials UNIT 7: Complex Numbers UNIT 8: Quadratic Equations UNIT 9: Radical Expressions UNIT 10: Rational Expressions UNIT 11: Exponential Functions UNIT 12: Conic Sections Weekly breakdown: (This will be updated as the school year progresses) Sept 9-12 Solve Equations Sept 16-19 Solve Inequalities Sept 23-26 Function Notation Sept 30-Ovt 2 Absolute Value Equations Oct 7-10 Solve Systems of Equations Oct 14-17 Systems of inequalities Oct 23-26 Solve Square Root Equations Oct 28-31 solve Cube Root Functions Nov 4-7 equations review and test Nov 11-14 Inverse functions Nov 18-21 review/test Nov 25-28 break Dec 2-5 simplify radicals with variables Dec 9-12 changing radicals to exponents/exponents to radicals Dec 16-19 Semester Review and Test Dec 20- Jan 5 Winter Break Jan 6-9 Add and Subtract complex numbers Jan 13-16 Multiply and Divide Complex Numbers Jan 20-23 Adding and Subtracting Radical expressions Jan 27-30 Multiply and Divide Radical Expressions Feb 3-6 Quadratic formula Feb 10-13 long division of polynomials Feb 17-20 simplify rational expressions Feb 24-27 multiply and divide rational expressions Mar 3-6 add and subtract rational expressions Mar 10-13 solve rational equations Mar 17-20 Spring break Mar 24-27 log equations Mar31-Apr 3 exponential functions Apr 7-10 Introduction to Exponential Functions Apr 14-18 Real world problems with Exponential Functions/Test Apr 21-22 Easter break Apr 23-24 Introduction to Conics/Circles Apr 28-May 1 Ellipses May5-8 Hyperbolas/Test over conic Sections May 12-15 semester review May 19-22 Test

I work some problems to show you about the specific concept, We work some problems together to ensure you understand the process and then finally you do problems on your own to solidify your understanding.
