US Grade 7 - 10
This class is designed to cover all important topics in Algebra 1 and to deepen knowledge and understanding in the subject. I introduce the topic with notes, example questions, and involve students a lot to make sure they are following along. Students are guided through the problems and they are encouraged to ask questions. Each week is focused on a certain topic from Algebra 1 and students can also bring their questions from that topic to discuss in the class. I use a digital whiteboard to share worksheets and show steps on the same whiteboard. I suggest that students are familiar with Pre Algebra content before taking this course. The content covered will be as follows: Week 1 Multi step equations review Week 2 Solving Linear Equations Week 3 Solving Linear Equalities Week 4 Graphing Linear Functions Week 5 Graphing Linear Functions Week 6 Writing Linear Functions Week 7 Writing Linear Functions Week 8 Solving System of Linear Functions Week 9 Solving System of Linear Functions Week 10 Exponential Functions and Sequences I will update the dates as we get closer to the class but next few topics are listed for your reference Week 10 Exponential Functions and Sequences Week 11 Addition and subtraction of polynomials (7.1) week 12 Addition and subtraction of polynomials (7.1) week 13 Multiplication and division of polynomials (7.2) week 14 Multiplication and division of polynomials (7.2) week 15 Solving Quadratic Functions (7.5) week 16 Factoring 7.6 week 17 Factoring Special products 7.7 week 18 Factoring polynomials (7.8) week 19 Properties of Radicals (9.1) week 20 Solving Quadratic Equations by Graphing (9.2) week 21 Solving Quadratic Equations using Square Roots (9.3) week 22 Solving Quadratic Equations using Completing the Squares (9.4)
