50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This fun and interactive course is designed to get your student on their feet and expand their creative skills. We will start each class with an introduction, where students will share their name and a fun fact about themselves to get everyone familiar with their new friends and fellow actors. Next we will do a group theater warm up with activities to help us let loose and prepare for our upcoming games. The rest of class will be devoted to several hilarious improv games that will get our students laughing and having a blast while they push their imagination and creativity. All games will be explained in detail and will be continually guided by the instructor. Since the students will be constantly interacting together, this is a great class to do with a friend! No prior knowledge or experience required, this is just a class to be silly and explore!
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic improv skills and be introduced to the world of acting and performing. Acting has always been praised for its ability to get people to open up and express parts of themselves that were previously unexplored. This course is designed to help students build their communication skills, conversational skills, and general social skills. Improv can help students learn to patiently take turns, express emotions in a healthy way, build confidence and personality, and get in touch with their inner creativity. The art of improv is not just useful for students who plan to pursue acting in their future, but for all students of all ages no matter what their future interests may be.

Teacher expertise and credentials
One of my first memories in the theater was taking improv classes at the early age of 4. I remember laughing endlessly as my friends and I made larger than life characters with silly voices, or worked together to make a story come to life. It was here that my love for acting and the performing arts was born, and years later it is still my number one passion. After graduating from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) with a major in theater and musical theater and from UCLA with a BA in theater, I continued my training as a performer while I worked professionally. Improv has been a constant throughout my career that has kept my skills sharp as an actor as well as build my confidence as a human being.
