Beginner Level
This is a class to build your confidence + understanding of what to expect from the interview. We'll put things into perspective and game plan for your big day (and beyond!) Class 1: Interview Introduction + Research - What is the point of an interview? Learn more about why you will be interviewed, what to expect, and the various aspects of how they're important and useful. What types of interviews may you do in the future? Class 2: Preparation - Often the best thing you can do for an interview is to prepare. Show up with lots of knowledge and give the interviewer a great impression of your ability to learn. Identify your strengths, interests, and goals. We'll discuss the importance of presenting yourself intentionally and strategically. We'll also practice what we've learned with mock interviews. Class 3: Skilled at Communication - Communication is about speaking AND listening. Interviews mean that you'll be asked a lot of questions... so it's important to listen carefully and hear which questions are being asked. If you speak without listening, it will be very obvious you're not focused on the present moment. Learn to be clear, concise, and genuine. Class 4: Handling Challenges and Closing the Deal - Equip yourself with strategies to handle the unexpected challenges that may arise during an interview. Secure your hard work by concluding the interview positively. Learn why it's great to ask questions in the end and remember to express gratitude and enthusiasm. We'll practice one more mock interview so we can reflect on feedback, too. By the end of this class, you'll have a clearer understanding of what to expect from your interview. You will practice simple strategies for showing confidence in an interview. You'll also gain perspective on how you're presenting yourself on screen and give credit to all of your cool accomplishments. {Extra Classtimes Available Upon Request}
