Class Experience

Are you in high school and still unsure about what you'd like to do after you graduate? It's okay! That's true for most teenagers. There are so many avenues to explore. Do you enjoy working with children? You might have thought about being a teacher...and that's great! However there are many jobs within a school that you may also enjoy and want to explore, especially if you are worried about managing a classroom full of behaviors!

I am a 2nd year school psychologist working in an elementary school. I began as a teacher, but soon learned it wasn't quite what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wish I had known about the field when I was in high school!

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has developed resources to share and get the word out about this exciting and rewarding field. In this class, I will share the ins and outs of the field. If you enjoy working with children, learning about psychology and the brain, and want to improve the lives and education of children, come by and learn! The job outlook for the field is excellent.

This class will be a combination of presentation-style, as well as an opportunity for learners to ask questions.
