In this one-time class, students will learn basic Spanish vocabulary by learning how to count to 10 and the alphabet in Spanish! Learning will happen through song, video and an interactive quiz!

ABC's and 123's en espanol is a one-time course targeted to teach primary students their alphabet and counting in Spanish. The course will be taught in English except for the targeted vocabulary that students will be learning. The structure of the class will be as follows: 1) Students will enter the waiting room and wait while attendance is taken 2) Once all students are in the class there will be introductions and an ice breaker question 3) Students will watch a video and learn a song...
This class is taught in English.
Students will demonstrate understanding of Spanish phonemes through movement and song. Students will repeat numbers one through ten in Spanish through a song and dance. Students will discuss how Spanish vocabulary is similar and different to English by sharing their observations in class conversation.
I have spent a lot of my life interacting with the Spanish language. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and spent my first year teaching in the classroom as a Kindergarten Dual Language teacher. My husband and I also had the opportunity to teach abroad in Nicaragua at the American Nicaraguan School.
The class will support a variety of learning needs and multiple intelligences including--kinesthetic learning (TPR- Total Physical Response), visual learning (videos and slideshows), and auditory learning (song).
There are no necessary prerequisite requirements for this class as it is an entry level Spanish class.
