Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Get ready to uncover the secrets of the universe in this exciting self-paced course designed for curious young scientists aged 8–12! Together, we'll explore the periodic table, the "map of matter," and discover the building blocks of everything around us—from the stars in the sky to the air we breathe.

Through engaging recorded lessons and activities, students will discover the properties of elements, the fascinating science of atoms, and how different materials are created. They’ll delve into groups of elements such as the shiny transition metals, the reactive alkali metals, and the mysterious noble gases. Along the way, they’ll meet famous elements like hydrogen, gold, and carbon and explore how these elements impact daily life.

At the end of the course, learners will select an element to research and present in a creative final project, allowing them to demonstrate their learning and share their discoveries. With hands-on activities and fun challenges, this course is designed to inspire a love of science and exploration.

Each lesson includes:

- A recorded lecture
- Transcripts
- Optional:
     - Vocabulary list
     - Additional videos
     - Activity
     - Homework

No prior knowledge is required—just a natural curiosity and excitement for learning!

Learning Goals

Students will define matter, elements, and compounds, explain their differences, and identify the structure of atoms and their subatomic particles.
Students will explain the organization of the periodic table, including groups, periods, and categories, and use it to predict the basic properties of elements.
