This is a great class for learners familiar with the alphabet; we will then expand on this to learn to put words in alphabetical order.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
If your learner is familiar with the alphabet, is able to say all the letters, and can read CVC and CVCE words this will be a great class for them! In this class we will talk about the order of the letters of the alphabet, letters that come before and after, and how to put words in alphabetical order. In this class we will start off with a warm up game and then have a some lecture instruction to introduce this topic. Learners will have opportunity to interact with their classmates; as well as, their teacher. We will practice this concept with review activities and games.
I always enjoy teaching learners new concepts and reviewing material learners have been introduced to in the past. I want my learners to leave class feeling encouraged and having more confidence!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
I look forward to meeting your child and having lots of fun learning together!
