4th Grade Math Expressions Unit 4 Word Problems

This class is part of a series of classes meant to provide opportunities for students to review and practice math concepts taught through Math Expressions, Grade 4, Unit 4. This class does not use problems from the textbook, and does not teach the concepts using the same methodologies as the textbook. Learners are able to bring problems from their textbook for help and clarification, but they must already have the materials as materials and/or access to the Math Expressions curriculum will not be provided in this class. Instead, this class follows the same sequence of concepts as the textbook in order to supplement learning. Below is a list of concepts that we will be covering during this course. 

Week 1: Properties of Addition and Multiplication (Big Idea #1)
Week 2: Evaluating Variable Expressions (Big Idea #1)
Week 3: Writing Variable Equations to Represent Word Problems (Big Idea #1)
Week 4: Solving One-Step Variable Equations (Big Idea #1)
Week 5: Comparison Word Problems, and Word Problems with Pictographs/Bar Graphs (Big Idea #2)
Week 6: Multi-Step Word Problems (Big Idea #3)
Week 7: Factors, Multiples, Prime/Composite (Big Idea #4)
