US Grade 3
This course will cover the first part of the 3rd Grade Math Common Core Standards. Students can enroll for specific topics or stay enrolled for the entire course. The following topics will include the following: Unit 1: Understanding Multiplication and Division September 4: Using Equal Groups, Number Lines, and Arrays to Multiply September 11: Multiply in Any Order September 18: Dividing with Equal Groups September 25: Using Number Lines to Divide Unit 2: Multiplication Facts and Strategies October 2: Multiply by 2, 5, 10, 0 or 1 October 9: Distributive Property October 16: Multiply by 3,4,6,7,8,9 October 23: Problem Solving and Multiplication Unit 3: Division Facts and Strategies November 6: Using Arrays to Divide & Relating Multiplication and Division November 13: Dividing by 2,5, or 10 November 20: Thanksgiving Break November 27: Dividing by 3,4,6,7,8,9,0,1 Unit 4: Patterns & Fluency December 4:Patterns in Multiplication and Fluency December 11: Multiplication Tables December 18: Completing Multiplication Tables Students who are already taking 3rd grade math can enroll for additional support and practice. Homeschooled students can enroll for a complete 3rd Grade math curriculum. The weekly schedule will include the following: Day 1: Live lesson with exposure and instruction of the concept. Students will be given an assignment to complete by Thursday. Day 2: Students will work on their assignments on their own. They can message their instructor for additional assistance during this time. Day 3: Second Live Lesson of the week. Students will be given an additional homework assignment. Day 4-5: Students will be provided with homework answer keys for the week to check their work. Daily Lessons Include: Entry Ticket: Students will work on prior learned concepts while students are joining. Lesson: Students will participate in the interactive math lesson. Exit Ticket: Students will complete an exit ticket to show their understanding of the lesson. Homework: Students will be given a homework assignment to practice the new skill. These math lessons will integrate real-world and engaging topics. Students will be using Nearpod, an interactive platform throughout the live lessons. Students will be provided with several different options for homework every week which include visual, real-world and concrete assignments.
