In this class, learners will be engaged in interactive, video game-themed lessons that focus on strengthening learners' math skills in second grade math content while having fun defeating Mario's and Sonic's enemies. Learners will strengthen their second grade math skills by showing an ability to: * use fact fluency strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems * solve word problems with a missing sum or addend * compare numbers using place value concepts * read an analog clock to the nearest quarter hour * count combinations of coins within 99 cents * identify different geometric shapes * read a ruler to the nearest half inch * identify fractions including halves and fourths
