In class, I will introduce and reinforce math skills appropriate for second grade leveled students that have completed 1st grade. Homeschool parents can use this class to assist with introducing skills or supplement learning. The main categories that will be introduced are as follows: counting to 1000, names of numbers, addition and subtraction using 1, 2 and 3 digits, place value, comparing numbers, word problems, telling time, interpreting graphs, and more. Students will have an opportunity to engage in class by greeting one another, answering questions and games. Students will have an opportunity to practice concepts in class with weekly provided worksheets and engaging activities. Hi! My name is Mrs. LaShana! I love teaching math classes. I also love teaching Preschool. I have worked with children for over 15 years. I worked as a daycare teacher for 6 years. I have an Associate's degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Fun fact: Mathematics was my my original major in college until Senior year. I am using all those skills to teach. I am a former homeschool mother of 3 children. I am always learning. I think it is a life-long journey. I think learning should be continuous and exciting! My hobbies are cooking, sewing, and crafting. Interesting fact: I once decorated a mirror filled with pennies!
