US Grade 2
Welcome to Mrs. Trippett's classroom! I value each learner's experience in the classroom and devote myself to the improvement of their learning. Each unit is designed to integrate all subjects into one theme to enhance the learning experience for students. Each themed unit focuses on texts, genres, comprehension skills and strategies, science & social studies integrations, and relevant mathematical questioning. While this is generally structured outline, it is through my experience and professional discretion that time may be spent longer or shorter on some topics depending on the student's mastery of the subject. Each week, homework will be given in the form of a Google Document in Google Classroom, which consists of practice/review of a skill from each subject we learned that day. All homework is due one week after the assigned date. This is usually a "Monday to Monday." type format. We will utilize a variety of strategies and resources in this class to enhance learning. It includes access to Google Classroom, project materials, Kahoot, Google Slides, etc. You will be informed the week before class which materials you will need for the following week. Here is a breakdown of our daily meeting: *Welcome and Warm-Up Foundations Skills. Read-Aloud/Story + Mini Lesson on Weekly Strategy, Grammar Mini-Lesson, Math Lesson. Go over Weekly homework, dismissal. NOTE: I take all US HOLIDAYS off, which includes Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Please note the calendar upon registering for class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
My name is Kailee Trippett and I taught 2nd grade for 7 years. I love teaching strategies and tools to help students become confident and successful readers, writers, and mathematicians. While I offer many 2nd-grade core classes, I also offer some fun supplemental classes. I have taught theatre, music and drama for 2 years, and enjoy those subjects as well. I can't wait to meet your learner and see them grow!
