1:1 Trolls, Text, and Treasures RPG: Character Creation Class!

In this course, students will design their own fantasy hero to play in our custom RPG class, 'Trolls, Text, and Treasures!' During the course of this lesson, your student will:

-Name and classify their unique hero, giving them a role such as bard, barbarian, or wizard
-Craft and create their hero using HeroForge character creator
-Create their character cards by giving their heroes unique skills and abilities
-Draft their hero's character sheet including a background story, race, motivation, and equipment

Once their character is created, please consider signing them up for one of our campaigns in order to bring their hero to life! In our custom RPG, students will be grouped together to explore a fantasy world filled with monsters, treasures, and brand new vocabulary terms! The class is designed to be played like an RPG (role playing game), where characters level up and use skills in order to complete campaigns and defeat enemies. There are several courses in this series, so students can expect to visit new locations with every class to improve their reading, vocabulary, and speaking skills with one another. 

 Each campaign is unique and full of new vocabulary terms and texts for students to read and master. Some example locations include a mystical fairy forest, a frightening vampire's castle, and a whimsical Wonderland. Students that sign up will get to try out new campaigns and learn something new every lesson!

I specialize in making learning fun and interactive for students. I have worked very hard to develop this course to be as accessible and fun as possible for students. I always welcome curiosity  from students about English pronunciation, vocabulary definitions, or hard to understand sentences, because sometimes the best way to learn is by asking questions! 

I find that students who have played video games before or who are fans of RPG style games (such as Pokémon, Dungeons and Dragons, or Final Fantasy) tend to be more successful in this class as many of the mechanics are similar. However, my lessons are designed to be accessible for new students, as well, so even if they've never played an RPG before, they'll still have a good time!
