1:1 Private Class: The Power of Gratitude

Robert Emmons, perhaps the world's leading scientific expert on gratitude, suggests that to affirm gratitude we need to recognize two things:
	- There are good things in the world.
	- The sources of this goodness are outside of ourselves.

In this one-on-one session, the student will learn the importance of expressing gratitude and how doing so strengthens our bonds with others. We will do this by engaging in a fun activity called "Gratitude = Positive Attitude." The activity helps students identify things they are grateful for and how to express gratitude. Some examples include:
  - Identify a food you are grateful for.
  - Identify a friend you are grateful for.
  - Identify a smell you are grateful for.

Human beings naturally want to help each other and expressing gratitude is one of the best ways to do it. Expanding our ability to notice things that we might not realize we're grateful for helps us understand the importance of gratitude.
