For personalized ELA instruction, join my live, virtual one-on-one class. Perfect for homeschool, private, or public school students. I offer tailored Montessori-based lessons, addressing specific concerns and adapting to student interests. As a trained Montessori educator, I am comfortable in meeting the student where they are and incorporating their interests into our learning, so students do not need to come with any particular required experience or knowledge. I have worked both in classrooms and one-on-one. I also have a BA and MA in English and Creative Writing and am currently working on doctoral coursework in English pedagogy. During writing instruction, we will cover grammar, language mechanics, sentence structure, the writing process, and a variety of writing formats. During literature instruction, we will cover literary analysis, figurative language, and other elements of literature. This class will utilize a holistic and cohesive ELA approach. If you are specifically interested in essay writing, please look at my class listings for an essay tutoring option. A typical class session could look like the following: Quick vocabulary or grammar warm-up game Quick review/touch base on previous session's content and skills Discussion of assigned reading (a variety of short-form non-fiction and long-form fiction will be used) Editing review of current writing assignment Overview of work to be done before next meeting
