Each day of camp students will be provided a live lesson and discussion questions. Students should be prepared to discuss in class. Students will be expected to comment on other learners' responses and significantly expand upon those ideas. There will also be daily assignments and comprehension quiz. Camp meetings will consist of discussion, games, and targeted instruction on literary elements. A variety of learning activities and experiences will be incorporated into both class time and homework. Learners will make predictions while reading, examine elements of plot, analyze character traits and motivation, assess genre, and explore theme and symbolism.

Supply List
Learners will need a copy of The Giver. All reading will be completed as homework (including chapters before the class start date). Discussions will take place in the Outschool classroom. There will be handouts and assignments that work best if printed, but a printer is not required.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
