In this four week class, a small group of student will explore Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. Students will create a literature portfolio that includes short writing assignments, small projects, etc.

Join our engaging Fish in a Tree class for inspiring discussions, activities, and writing exercises. Loved by students and teachers alike, this affirming class covers plot analysis, character traits, genre assessment, and more. 

PLEASE NOTE: Learners will need to do reading outside of class time.  The book will be divided into manageable chunks (see below) and audio books are a welcome tool, if needed.

Students will make predictions while reading, examine elements of plot, analyze character traits and motivation, assess genre, and explore theme and symbolism.

Hello!  

I'm excited to teach English, Language Arts, and Social Studies through Outschool.  I've been teaching in one form or another for over twenty years. I have taught all ages from early childhood to adult in public, private, and higher education school settings.  I have a Master's degree in English and another in Montessori education.  I have certifications in Montessori education (6-9 and 12-18) and Teaching English as a Second Language. 

I believe in getting to know the student as a whole person, and meeting them where they are for the greatest learning success. I strive for an engaging and inspiring learning experience.

I live with my three children and our dog, Buddy.  I can't wait to meet you!
