Welcome to Dinosaur Math! Join our wild, weekly adventures doing Grade 2 math concepts while following the Dinosaur Friends. The classes are standalone and students can join at any time! The class is presented in presentation style and will feature 5 dinosaur friends: a brontosaurus named Bryan who likes to wear hats; Tina the triceratops who loves having a new look each class; Quinn the quetzalcoatlus who is very shy; Tyrone the T-Rex who scares easily; and the color changing stegosaurus Steve. The class is fun, engaging, and energetic! Class topics and dates are listed below: Pre-K: Topics: Week A: Counting to 20; Number recognition; Comparative questions Week B: Identifying Shapes; Sorting by characteristic (by shape, color, and number); Patterns Week C: Count up to 30; backwards from 10; How many are there?; More or less Week D: Count by 10s, up to 40, backwards by 10; Number Bonds; Bar graphs Kindergarten: Topics: Week A: Counting up to 50, forwards and backwards; Number recognition and writing; Count and match, more or less Week B: Counting up to 99 +; Calendar concepts; Shapes (2D/3D) Week C: Simple addition; Simple subtraction; Patterns Week D: Number bonds; Place Value; Bar graphs Grade 1: Topics: Week A: Counting by 10s, forwards and backwards; Greater than, less than, equal to; Addition (double/triple digit, regrouping, word problems) Week B: Counting by 5s, forwards and backwards; Number lines; Subtraction (double/triple digit, regrouping, word problems) Week C: Counting by 2s, forwards and backwards; Logic puzzles; Simple fractions Week D: Bar graphs; Equivalent equations; Place Value (ones, tens, hundreds place) Grade 2: Topics: Week A: Skip counting by 5s, 2s, 4s; Addition; Which number is closer to...?
