Bienvenue! Welcome to my classroom! It would be my absolute pleasure to tutor your student in any capacity possible. I have well over two decades of teaching experience and I am a native French speaker. I am a certified French Immersion teacher in Canada and have been a classroom teacher for my local school board for over 21 years. I’ve also taught French at the Military Base while I was a University student. My classes are always created with the learner in mind, I want to ensure that learning a new language is a positive experience for them rather an a stressful one. I’m very mindful that each student has different strengths and needs and I will be adapting all my lessons accordingly. Since this is a one on one personal tutoring session, I will specifically customize classes to meet the individual needs of each enrolled student. *I’ve listened to parental feedback & requests and have made this class a bit shorter than my other private tutoring one to accommodate those busy family schedules and students who need more body breaks, screen breaks. During our first class, I will be able to get a sense of your student’s communication, listening, reading and writing skills. This will help me create individualized lessons suitable for your student in French. In this class we will focus on reading, spelling, grammar, writing, oral communication skills and even a combination of skills, depending on the specific needs of the the individual student. We will be working on: -Grammar -Vocabulary -Listening skills -Comprehension skills -Overall confidence when learning a new language and self expression in that language. As this tutoring class is for Beginner French students, I will be using the following fun themes, however, these can be tweaked based on the student’s skills and age. This schedule has examples of topics we can cover. If a student needs more time on a topic or area of skill, I will change my lessons accordingly. Week 1: Greetings, introducing oneself Week 2: Letters (l’alphabet) Week 3: Colours Week 4: Numbers 1-10 Week 5: Calendar (days of the week, months of the year) Week 6: Seasons Week 7: Family, introducing family members Week 8: Animals Week 9: School Week 10: Food Throughout the lessons, I will be talking and so will your student, any material that I share will solely be done with my Screen Share- and I will be using it to share my themes Google slides. We will have fun singing, reading and doing fun activities to practise our learned skill sets from each session! My goal for learners is to engage in communication as much as they are comfortable with. Active participation in the lesson is always encouraged, this is a safe, stress-free environment! Note to parents: if the class openings do not work suit your schedule, please reach out to me with requested days/times and I will do my best to accommodate you. Each session is 30 minutes with only one student. This is an ongoing, weekly class, but you are welcome to start and stop at anytime.
